My friend was offering a “meditation” group, which, in that context, meant Kundalini Yoga. I soon became a regular at the group, drawn back by deeper and deeper experiences. I was eventually inspired to begin my own sadhana, or daily yoga and meditation practice. I spent the fall semester of my senior year studying abroad in India, and upon graduation the following spring, I knew that I wanted to be a yoga teacher.
with Annie Adamson, Natalie Gildersleeve, and Diana Hulet. I found this heart-centered, alignment-focused, and Anusara-inspired style of yoga to be an enriching compliment to my Kundalini practice. I quickly fell in love with the Portland yoga community, and discovered the joy of community supported practice. I began teaching regularly and learning to teach more styles of yoga in various studios around Portland soon after graduating.
and Living Yoga’s Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher Training in 2016. I continue to learn, grow and hone my skills as a teacher by being constantly humbled and challenged by new experiences. I am extremely devoted to my personal practice, and love to share the grace, purpose and wisdom that it has brought to my life. My classes incorporate mantra, pranayama and tantric philosophy with Kundalini meditation and precise asana alignment, for students of all levels.
Greg Allen is the real deal. I go out of my way to take his classes because he offers the perfect blend of esoteric teachings and physical practice. He intuitively knows when to push you and when to offer modifications, and I always come away from his classes feeling energized, and as if we just went on some magic journey together. Highly recommend his classes.
Greg was instrumental in helping me to find my dedication to a daily yoga practice. He is very encouraging and patient and always helps me to let go and surrender to my mat.
While traveling, I was really lucky to have joined Greg’s yoga class. Greg is very strong and lithe, and has a high level of awareness. I enjoyed the asanas, because he really took the time to go deep enough into the practice, to give a lot of rest and peace and feel like you’re doing it thoroughly. Most of all I enjoyed the end of the class during meditation. He had really inspiring music that lead me trough some stuff of the past and gave insight, which touched me so much that I even cried. I am grateful to Greg for this high level of experience.
